My PHR Story: I joined the PHR team to help me gain some experience in the radio environment and to do something positive for my local community. My friend at college told me a bit about it as she had volunteered in the past and it sounded great fun and a chance for me to build on my skills, so I found the PHR website and signed up to help. I started as back-up for the lovely Alastair on Wednesday evenings 6 till 8pm. He shared his fountain of knowledge with me and showed me how to get to grips with all the equipment. He then very kindly let me have 15 minutes, then half an hour of his air time and the rest they say is history! I now present my own breakfast show on a Wednesday morning.

Being a Presenter: I love being a presenter, it’s so much fun! I really enjoy sharing my music with the listeners and hopefully cheering them up! My show features lots of great music (of course!), usually with some sort of a theme, depending on musical events taking place, etc or of course my mood! I like to keep you all up to date with events, gigs and festivals and generally all things going on in the music world, as well as a little serious news thrown in for good measure and plenty of juicy celebrity news and gossip. I also have a TV picks feature where I select a few snippets of quality TV and films I think you might enjoy.

Being Me: I’m a bit of a gig goer if truth be told! I’m a huge music fanatic and try to go to as many live gigs as my supermarket pay packet will allow me to! I’ve studied sound engineering and music tech at college for 3 years and I’m currently training to become a BA (Broadcast Assistant) at BBC Radio Derby where I hope to further my career in the wonderful world of radio! In between all the fun stuff I work as a cook at Morrisons in Burton. I also enjoy baking, long country walks, drinking, eating out, shopping and spending time with my boyfriend and our families.
