Phoenix Hospital Radio Membership
Members can get involved in every aspect of the radio:-
- Forming back-up for presenters in the studio during a broadcast;
- Ward-walking around the hospital collecting requests prior to a broadcast;
- Taking care of the record library including transferring tracks from vinyl and cassette onto mini disc;
- Helping with Outside Broadcasts in and around the Burton area;
- Following a detailed training programme, becoming a presenter with their own show;
- Anyone with technical knowledge may be able to help maintain the equipment.
Upon making the first enquiry, a potential new member will have a short informal chat with the Membership Secretary to find out what kind of areas they would like to get involved with. After this, they are able to sit in on a few broadcasts, and start getting further involved with Phoenix Radio. After 3 months (the initial probationary period), they are interviewed again, more formally, to assess their interests, views, etc.
