My PHR Story: I initially joined PHR in 2008 as a backup presenter on two shows a week. After completing my presenter training on one of these shows under the watchful eyes of Mr Brotherton I went on to host an hour of the Wednesday night programme for some time, whilst still being part of the backup crew on a Thursday. Eventually I moved nights and am now a presenter on the Tuesday night show, alongside the Station Manager Steve Cooper.

Being a Committee Member: My committee roles mean that I get to meet all of the new members and perform their inductions. I also organise the social events which the members get involved with, currently we all go out for quarterly meals, this gives all the presenters a chance to see other as because we all present at different times this rarely happens.

Being a Presenter: As a presenter I really enjoy my show, and spending time with the other members of the crew. My show has a general format which includes; The Album Chart, Have I Got More Music News For You, The 10 Song Shuffle, TV Advert Music and The Music Quiz. I try to get the patients involved by encouraging interaction with all of the quizzes. We have a great time in the studio on a Tuesday night and there’s always a good atmosphere and we all get along really well.

Being Me: In between work and my involvement with PHR in what spare time I do have I enjoy looking after my various animals. I have a lovely pony which I spend as much time with as possible, and I also keep and breed sheep in my parent’s field. I am also trying to continue my education as my long term career goal is to become a counsellor, and I hope to specialise in trauma counselling.
