Name: Chris Twigg
PHR Role: Presenter
Committee Role: N/A
Occupation: Anything and everything at present
PHR Member Since: check with membership?
My PHR Story: I heard about PHR through an article in the Burton Mail and thought it would be nice to be able to give some time to those who are in hospital. I started by doing back-up on a Monday night, which at that time included doing the ward-walking prior to the show and then shortly to be talking to and about people you had just met. I was also quite active in the fund-raising that we did, mainly through Outside broadcasts, fun days etc.
Being a Committee Member: Not a committee member now, it’s the turn of the younger element although I have held every role except technical and enjoyed them all.
Being a Presenter: It gives me the chance to, hopefully, cheer a few people up by playing something that takes them away from the fact they are in hospital. We all have one piece of music that makes us remember the beach at somewhere warm and nice or something along those lines. It also gives me the opportunity to play songs that I wouldn’t normally choose or even remember and then realise just how good they were!
Being Me: Married with a daughter and both of these ladies mean the World to me! My motto is Live and let laugh! And my favourite quote would be something along the lines of; "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW-- What a Ride!"
